Hey, everyone. I've been requested by Chief Eli to accompany him to the US for an extended engagement. It'll be a month long, give or take. I know it's a bit sudden but I only found out this morning as well.

I'm free to meet and hang for the day if any of your aren't doing anything. It'll be awhile before I get to again. If not, stay safe and I'll see you all soon.

P.S.
Particularly to the Hounds, if any engagements come up: I know you guys have it covered. But (again) stay safe, come back alive, and make it rain. Keep me posted if you can so I don't worry too much.

General OOC notes:
+ At 7am when he texts: he'll be finishing breakfast with J and K. He's cabbing them to the Arcanum and school respectively after but will be free after 8am for anyone who wants to meet up.:)
+ He's pretty much set aside the day for anyone and everyone. Training isn't a thing today, he expects he'll have a lot of spare time overseas. Today's about family and extended!family.
+ He sends the personal group message above to the Hounds, Cindy, An'yu and his family.
+ He puts up general, formal posts on GEISTnet, LOGOSnet, and MAYAnet that he will be away overseas with Wiseman Tagabigay for those who aren't family or extended!family.

[Nodding along at that first part, then lifting an eyebrow at Yulia.]

Well, Bostova seems to have changed a lot. As for Jill and Mia... I'm sure that they're nice girls. Kaz is, after all, an excellent judge of character. [Smiling.] I'm looking forward to working with the two of them.

[Saying that as if she doesn't just mean being in the same conspiracy, or being a part of the Vigil. There are things that she hasn't really been able to tell you yet, Brig.]

[ Brig notes that part at the end and gives her a raised eyebrow ]

Don't tell me you and Cindy have been? [ Assigned to Jill's blade? his expression finishes. ] But isn't Mia with the Midnight Riders?

The Monkey Eaters - that is, Mia's blade - are going to be allied with us and apparently with the rest of you. As for Cindy and I... yes. Another member's going to come around soon. A boy named Leo, I believe.

[She loves it when things go according to plan.]

Allied Blades? I like the sound of that. We can cover each other on the field if ever we're sortied. [ It also lets him watch over you ]

He's Kaz and Josh's friend too. They introduced him to me as one helluva' sniper. [ That makes Brig feel a bit more comfortable with the thought that J is apparently going on the field ] I always liked having sniper support back in the War. It was good having an eye-in-the-sky that could rain hurt down like the finger of God.

Actually, I'm going to be your eyes in the sky if we ever team up with the Hounds.

[Yes. Feel free to bug her about that statement.]

Eh? [ He cocks an inquiring eyebrow at her ] You've always been my eyes in the sky.

Well, now I will be for you, your team, and for mine.

[Which she appears to be ridiculously proud of, by the way.]

That includes the sniper end of things.

[ A lot more "Eh??" in that look on his face ]

Did you just pick up the sniper rifle now? Or is that one more of your epic skills I've only recently been finding out about?

[ It's a surprise though. Most situations she was in back before Netsach would only require close-ranged firearms. You don't usually tote a sniper rifle unless you plan to kill from afar. ]

The latter. It's sometimes good to let the shadier types in the neighborhood know that you can peg them from a distance.

[Yep, she had to go there once or twice...]

Well, it isn't too important now. To be fair, though, I did have the tendency to attract trouble without really meaning to.

[You know them Leitmans. Fiery, principled, active, and never the types to tolerate injustice for very long.]

So much of your mom in you. [ Yes, those fiery, principled Leitmans ] Well, at least there's none of that to worry about now. [ Brig let's out a sigh softly and smiles ]

I feel sorry for those you pulled the trigger on. I... [ He's not quite sure about asking it pointblank. She'll always be one of his babies in his eyes ] hope you didn't have to blow a new nostril into anyone's faces.

[leitman]

[She can guess at what you're thinking.]

Don't worry. I made it a point to always shoot to disable someone or diffuse a situation, never to kill.

But have you ever? [ The concern in his tone and on his face is unmistakable. He's happy, of course, about her MO. He's worried about first kill backlash. ]

[leitman]

[She's quiet for a moment.]

No, not yet.

[And then looking up at you.]

I'm hoping that I'll never have to, but now that I'm a part of all of this... well, I know that the chances of that are getting slimmer by the second.

[But she isn't going to back down or leave. That much is obvious in her tone.]

[ He siddles his chair up to her and just takes her into a hug. A really long embrace which he doesn't let go. ]

It's going to happen. [ There is hurt in his voice. ] You picked the path of a Hunter, a soldier. [ Now there is worry. ] But you're not going to have to deal with it alone. [ Love ] I'm always going to be here with you. [ He cups her head like a father would a daughter and kisses her on the side of her forehead ] You run to me whenever you need me.

[leitman]

[She'll take that, of course, because it's nice to be able to have you around like this in the first place. It's a good reminder that she's strong, but she doesn't always have to soldier through things all on her own.]

I know, and I'm really, really grateful that I'll have a home to come back to with a big, hard shoulder to cry on.

[That last part is teasing. Typical Leitman humor.]

Let's try to talk as regularly as we can while I'm in the States? [ There is genuine want and dread mixed together in his voice. He's not looking forward to going back to the long-distance communication they'd lived through all those years before Netsach ]

[Blinking several times at that, then chuckling.]

Who are you and what have you done with my Brigade?

[She still remembers how hard it was to get you to stay still, just a few months ago.]

I punched him in the face while you weren't looking and it cleared my senses. [ Brig chuckles. Although he looks sideways, it was the thought of being apart again for so long that hit him in the face. ]

[leitman]

Hey.

[Catching you by the face with one hand.]

No moping. We're both just a phone call away, and a month isn't so bad.

[atlas_shrugged]

It just reminds me a lot of before. And I've wasted so much time that could have been spent with you all as it is. [ A beat ] I don't ever want to go back to that.

[leitman]

I don't think you will, even if things are going to be busier for you now than they've ever been.

[You come back, and you stay in touch. That is more than enough for her.]

[atlas_shrugged]

[ Brig smiles at her and makes a motion with her hand to go get up and changed ]

You two princesses should get ready. And I'm going to step out for a smoke before you start making me cry. [ He chuckles, stands up and plants a kiss on her cheek. Another one on K's forehead as she finishes up her food. ]

I'll call a cab so it'll be hear when you two get back down.

We can prolly end here unless you wanted to do more stuff~

[Smiling once at you before she takes her sleepy daughter by the hand. They shouldn't take too long.]
