Hey, everyone. I've been requested by Chief Eli to accompany him to the US for an extended engagement. It'll be a month long, give or take. I know it's a bit sudden but I only found out this morning as well.

I'm free to meet and hang for the day if any of your aren't doing anything. It'll be awhile before I get to again. If not, stay safe and I'll see you all soon.

P.S.
Particularly to the Hounds, if any engagements come up: I know you guys have it covered. But (again) stay safe, come back alive, and make it rain. Keep me posted if you can so I don't worry too much.

General OOC notes:
+ At 7am when he texts: he'll be finishing breakfast with J and K. He's cabbing them to the Arcanum and school respectively after but will be free after 8am for anyone who wants to meet up.:)
+ He's pretty much set aside the day for anyone and everyone. Training isn't a thing today, he expects he'll have a lot of spare time overseas. Today's about family and extended!family.
+ He sends the personal group message above to the Hounds, Cindy, An'yu and his family.
+ He puts up general, formal posts on GEISTnet, LOGOSnet, and MAYAnet that he will be away overseas with Wiseman Tagabigay for those who aren't family or extended!family.

[He shows up fifteen minutes later, and it is adorable how it is Kitty who answers the door and promptly informs Taning, hands on hips, that there is a No Lightshow, No Entry policy. After paying his toll (and making the kid light up as well), he puts the cans on the table and sits himself down.

J peeks downstairs for a bit and sees him, exchanges greetings with him, and coaxes Kitty upstairs, citing "boy talk" as the reason.

Taning is alone to wait for Brig.]

[ Brig comes out of the kitchen in a bit, carrying two Corona bottles and a lemon he kept in the fridge.

Sup, brod. Think fast.

[ He tosses the lemon to Taning, half-hoping he's hiding a katana somewhere and slice a piece off it with his usual flair ]

[Dammit, Brig, his sword hilt is under the table.

What he does instead is wrap his index finger in shear force and slice the lemon with it, dropping the halves into a bowl on the table. Then he conjures up a simple phantasmal knife and slices it properly.

He wonders, briefly and incongruously, if Kitty took after Brig in the "I want an Obrimos light show" department.]

I gotta admit, I have never had beer with lemon before.

[ Brig is very much amazed with the Force slice, and can't help but quip pop culture ] "Airbender SLAIS". [ He chuckles ]

Neat trick. Can't wait to see you chop an Amrita head off with that. [ He sits down and passes over a Corona to Taning ] Only with Corona, really. I've tried it with San Mig Light; tastes nice but lemons and Corona were born to make love.

The day I get to that point, I'll bring you along and we can have a chop-a-thon.

[He laughs; nice to have a fellow soldier to talk to, a bro to talk violent things with.

He squeezes some lemon into the beer and drinks it. Verdict:]

Fuck this is good shit. Where did you learn to do this?

[ Hopefully by then, Brig will be able to punch hard enough to cut Amrita hide with the side of his blunt shield. He chuckles and points at the lemon slice Taning squeezed ]

Pop the slice in through the bottle. The beer will flow through the lemon at the neck. [ A swig of his beer and a drag of his cigarette ]

I'd say the internet but I actually learned it at a bar when I was still off alone. Couldn't really stay in one place long, but I still liked the feeling of being around people. So I'd visit dive bars now and then and stay a couple of hours. [ A short pause ]

One bartender was nice enough to suggest Corona and teach me. One of those small acts of kindness which were pretty rare back then.

[Taning blinks, then does as Brig recommends. True enough, it's better that way: more balanced.

He tilts the bottle in Brig's direction as a salute.]

I still call wizardry. I would know, I'm a mage.

[He laughs, and pulls out the thing he prepared and puts it on the table. It's a small, nondescript spray bottle, the sort that perfumes come in.]

[ Brig laughs at the quip. Then looks at the bottle. ] You know you guys can always just tell me if you think I smell. [ It's a joke of course. Just waiting for you to tell him what it is. ]

Do Created even smell? [He sniffs in your general direction.] Parang wala naman. [He laughs, clearly joking.]

No, actually, that's an enchantment. Spray it on, and you're immune to fire for an hour.

Di kasi pinapawisan. [ Brig laughs too. Yes, he's been practicing. ] But that's very thoughtful of you, brod. With the firefights we find ourselves in, I'm pretty sure I'll need that some time soon. Bought or made?

It is a big deal. [ He turns it around in the palm of his hand ] You made it and I very much appreciate it.

[ Then a chuckle ] Though if you can do this now [ Matter Mage-stuff. Yes, he's read up. ], I'm half-expecting you'll be turning water into nitro like some Crazy Ivan Jesus pretty soon.
