[ Brigade had just come from a morning at Kibo. He'd spent it training in combat and transmutations with An'yu-sama. His sensei had mentioned though that Hikaru was sick or something. The only thing that came to mind when he'd heard it was that Hikaru still probably hadn't recovered from Train Day.
He's felt an attachment, of sorts, to Hikaru since the evening he'd given him Kaien's Pipe, the Shield of Gintoki, and trust enough to tell him of his past. "One weapon to another."
Brigade hadn't planned to join Zangyaku yet, but when the invitation was given, Brigade found that he couldn't say no. He'd hugged the "young" boy and there were promises made. "I might not be able to carry the Godslayer for you, but for as long as I can, I'll carry you on my shoulder."
He's running down from Kibo, heading to Falner. He doesn't really like the trams much. He doesn't like sitting around. His hands find their way to his phone and he finds himself texting the Blade King. ]
SENT: 03:04 PM I heard you were sick. Are you okay, sir?
[The text makes him lift an eyebrow, but only for a moment. Word travels fast, especially among the oni-tsukai of Zangyaku. That included, for better or for worse, their operatives from other conspiracies.]
SENT: 3:06 PM Better now, actually, but still under strict orders to rest. Hi. :)
[It hasn't been too long since he's seen Brigade, but it feels like plenty for a man like himself. The Promethean's movements have surprised him, as of late. It seemed as though Brigade had that unfortunate talent of being too damned honest at precisely the right (or wrong) time.]
Query: is this Hikaru's quarters? Cause I remember that Brig's first time there is post-Seigi.:l
Oh crap, wrong way. [ Brigade comically skids to a stop and starts jogging back in the direction he came from. Now where to get some sake without raiding the Zangyaku stores? Maybe there's a, what did Taning and Kaz call it again, a Sari-Sari store in the compound? ]
SENT: 03:17 PM On my way back, sir. Was running in the wrong direction. Is there anywhere i can buy alcohol in Kibo? I don't feel right coming over without any drinks and I'm not quite familiar with the compound yet.
[ It'd be just wrong to offer Zangyaku alcohol to the guy who heads Zangyaku and thus technically owns it. ]
[Well, that's a little amusing. Not too surprising, though: he stays in Falner more than he ought to, really.]
SENT: 3:18 PM There are a lot of convenience stores and other little places along Marcos Highway, before you hit the roads heading up to Kibo. You really don't have to bring anything, though. :)
[ And he's going the wrong way again. Another comical break in momentum and Brig is running toward Marcos Highway, following the directions on his phone ]
[ A good hour later, he's walking into the house and making his way to the pool where Hikaru is resting. He's brought with him two canned six-packs. ]
Uh, sorry. Ended up running back and forth in the wrong direction [ At least he didn't take a tram. If he had, he might've jumped out as a knee-jerk reaction of being in the wrong direction ] and ended up using my limited Filipino to buy beer from the first [ He says the next words tentatively ] sa(a)ri-sa(a)ri store I came by.
[ Lord, the Blade King looks like shit on the road. He's not used to this. ] You don't look good at all, sir. [ He sets the two six-packs on a table near where Hikaru's reclined. ] May I sit?
I've got it. [ Brigade sees the smile and pulls out one can for Hikaru, so that he doesn't have to reach out and strain himself. That mission must've been one helluva' bitch to result in this. ]
Yeah, I know. The little stuff I learned from my bestfriend back in WWII isn't enough. And that was over a hundred years ago to boot. [ He now finds himself with the need to learn two languages, the other which he's about to ask Hikaru ] Tagalog and Japanese apparently.
I'll get on it, sir. Probably ask An'yu-sama to tutor me in Japanese. And maybe Taning or Kaz in Tagalog. [ Brig thinks about both of his blademates. Taning seems to know better street Tagalog, which Brig would prefer. But he thinks now would be a good time to pick up some of Kaz's skill in socialization as well. He makes a mental note of it. ]
[ He takes a seat, Hikaru left him without an answer if he could, but Brig thinks that maybe he can dare to be a little less formal. He takes one beer and takes a swig of it. He motions with his cigarette pack if it's all right to smoke, particularly with Hikaru looking like crap. ] Is this still from Train Day?
I'm not so sure about everybody else, sir, but the Hounds at least call it Train Day, I believe. [ He lights up a cigarette takes a long drag. ] It's all just informal but we didn't really have anything else to call it actually.
[ He takes another swig of his beer and just waits. He can do quiet. That's mostly what he's been really since joining Netsach. Quiet. Waiting. Supplying input only when there's something to offer. ]
Well, that's all that matters, right? "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger" and all that jazz. [ Brigade takes another swig and another drag. ] Glad you didn't take it all on yourself though. We might not be drinking here right now if ever you did. [ It's said off-handedly, but the concern can be heard in the tone ]
Good to hear. To your health. [ He holds his beer out to toast while trying to relax a bit in his chair ] So how long before you're up and about again? I think the others miss playing "Where's Hikaru?" when they pass trees or shadows of buildings.
[ Brig laughs ] Now you're just joshing, the Blade King. [ The pun on a fellow blademate who doesn't like being talked about unintended. Only the denotative meaning of the idiom. ]
[ He takes a swig and smiles ] I wasn't really talking about the "spying" or "creeping". [ Brig gives him a sincere look ] More that the Blade misses you randomly appearing with a smile on your face.
And now there's me too. [ Brig tips his beer at him before taking another swig ] Which leaves you with just Josh, since Kaz is currently off taking his Everyman's Walk. You'll have collected 5 out of 6 rare, War Hounds Pokemon after that. [ He chuckles ]

Nope! This is his house in Kibo. Where they drank post-Seigi was his room at Falner!
Copy!:D Wheee, house in Kibo. I'm guessing this is where they entertained Death as well last sesh?

Yep!

That took you a while.

[Have a crooked smile in your direction, Brig, as he's going for one of those beers.]
You're going to have to work on that Tagalog, you know.

[Oh, thanks. You didn't have to, Brig, but... thanks. Popping that can open now.]
Training with Kibo will make the Japanese easy. As for Tagalog, well. You've got your fair share of people to ask around here.

Go ahead. [A beat.] So that's what you guys are calling it now? "Train Day"?
[And nope, he's not answering just yet.]

Well, Brianna has had the pleasure of seeing me already. Greeted Taning and Yulia as well, when they moved into Kibo.
